Almost 15 years ago, while researching a 4H poultry project with our daughter, we came across a breed of chicken that was unfamiliar and called “Serama.”  The information on this breed was scarce, which made it very intriguing. Once we were finally able to obtain information, we simply had to have Seramas and the quest commenced. We searched for breeders throughout the United States and then researched carefully those that we found. With great care and patience, we selected the best birds with the best type available. Those birds were proudly the foundation breeding stock of OC Seramas and what formed our own exclusive line of sermas known throught the United State, Puerto Rico and the Philippines.

OC Seramas has been breeding these amazing and tiny birds for over ten years and showing our own line since 2010.  In 2011, OC Seramas founded the first serama council in the west with the sole purpose of “encouraging the breeding and showing of Serama” here on the West Coast. We have since that time hosted numerous Serama table top shows up and down the coast in California in conjunction with the major ABA and APA clubs.

In order to facilitate and host these table top Serama shows here on the West Coast, we traveled the states so that Kate could apprentice and in May 2011, become the first licensed Serama judge not only in California but also on the West Coast. Since that time, OC Seramas has been instrumental in organizing and judging numerous table top shows not only in California but across the U.S. Additionally, after considerable effort and based on the success of these table top serama shows, poultry organizations and clubs in California are now seeking to have table top events at their ABA/APA sanctioned shows, including Central Coast Feather Fanciers, Seaside Feather Fanciers, Pacific Poultry Breeders, and Greater California Society of Poultry Fanciers! 

OC Seramas is located in Southern California and Arizona!
